Using CFG's Web Site

Our web site provides many advantages in finding a job. You'll find details about each fair we produce, information on the companies attending those fairs, and the top positions each company is looking to fill on our site. This allows you to attend the fair armed with knowledge about the companies you are interested in. Here are ways you can benefit from our site:

• Each fair has a page available on our site sixty days before and thirty days after the event. Vital information like the date, time and location of the fair and what companies are attending the event can be found here. Take a look at our Calendar to see a list of fairs in chronological order or see our Map of Fairs to check out fairs in your area. Our site is updated daily , so bookmark our site and check back often!

• If you have a special interest in a company, search by company name to see if they have attended a fair with us in the last thirty days or are attending a fair in the next sixty days.

• If you are interested in careers in your field of expertise throughout the country, you may search by position. Please note, this list only includes the top positions for each company. Even if your position isn't listed for a certain career fair, plan on visiting the fair. Frequently companies are hiring for more than the positions they list with us.

• Once you've reached a page for the specific event you are interested in, you can find more detailed information on a company by clicking on any underlined company name. Typically these ads include information like the company's history, available positions, salary, benefits and who to contact. A standard web ad (generated by CFG Inc.) includes the top positions that company is trying to fill, contact information and e-mail or web addresses if available.

• To receive e-mail notification of career fairs in a specific city, go to the fair page for that city, click on the link "Notification of Future Fairs," and submit your e-mail address. We will e-mail you one week before the next fair in that city.

Tips for a Successful Career Fair

In our twelve years producing career fairs, we have compiled a list of tips that will help you have a successful career fair!

• Dress Professionally: Your professional appearance will help you make a great first impression. Many recruiters conduct initial interviews at the event.

• Bring Many Copies of your Resume: Leave a copy at the registration desk and have copies to give to each recruiter you speak with.

• Research Companies: Investigating the companies through CFG's web site will assist you in asking informed questions when you speak with recruiters. Don't be another face in the crowd; impress them with what you know about their company!

• Talk to every Company: Even if a company doesn't list the position you are qualified for, talk to the recruiter! They may not be advertising every position. If you have never heard of a company, maybe it's time you did!

• Conduct Yourself as you would for an Interview: Make eye contact, introduce yourself, ask questions, have a firm handshake, smile, stand up straight, don't chew gum, and dress professionally are a few suggestions.

• Follow Up: Get in touch with the companies you spoke with a few days after the fair to show your interest and find out where they are in the hiring process. This helps you leave a lasting impression!

Send Us Your Resume

If you are unable to attend a Career Fair in your area, please send us your resume. You can submit your resume without attending the event. Companies who attend our career fairs receive copies of faxed or e-mailed resumes. Here's how you can send us your resume:

1. Fax (402) 697-7427: Please include in your cover letter the name of the city and the date of the fair. This will help get your resume in the right hands.
2. E-mail [email protected]: Please include in your e-mail the city and date of the fair you are interested in. You can attach your resume file to your e-mail as one of the following formats:
   • Word Documents (*.doc)
   • Rich Text Format (*.rtf)
   • WordPerfect 5.X (*.doc)
   • WordPerfect 6.X (*.wpd, *.doc)
   • Works 3.0/4.0 for Windows (*.wps)
   • Word 95 or 97 (*.doc)
